Benefits of Goat Milk Products
Some of our favorite products here at STORX are goat milk products. In particular, goat milk lotion and chapstick. And actual goat milk for drinking if you ask my dad! Because it's one of our favorite products, it was important for us to put some in our Just for Moms Bundle. We want all moms to gain from the benefits of goat milk. That's why we've included a Homespun Chick full-sized lotion and a chapstick in each of our Just for Moms Bundles. Check their website out here!
Goat milk products are especially helpful for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis because of its antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also rich in nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin B12, and vitamin D, which can help with immune function. Goat milk lotion can also prevent water loss through the skin, so you can retain more hydration and keep your skin moisturized.
Using goat milk lotion on my tummy has been a huge relief for me now that I'm officially in the second trimester. I'm just not a fan of feeling like my skin is dried out and stretching! I also plan to use it in postpartum when my stomach starts to go down and skin is loosening up.
Goat Milk Products for Baby
A huge benefit of goat milk is that it has a pH level that is super close to that of human skin. This makes adverse reactions much less likely because the skin doesn't see it as a foreign substance. This can be incredibly helpful for babies because their skin can be very sensitive. For babies, we recommend using unscented lotions, just because it's one less variable that can irritate their sensitive skin barriers. Quick tip: apply lotion after baby's bath, when their skin is still damp. This helps lock in extra moisture to prevent any dryness.
